Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American performer and actress. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), an RN as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. Her family ancestry includes Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen discovered her talents in entertainment at an early stage of her life. Her audition was in 1992 and was offered the role of Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell was signed by her mother as an agent when she was only 13 years old. Bell was later selected for newspapers ads as well as commercials for TV. At this time she began taking training in private acting. Bell played a small part, uncredited for her part in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was a member of the drama and music club of Shrine Catholic High School. She was the star as Dorothy in her high school's performance of The Wizard of Oz. Bell went to The Tisch School of the Arts which she attended to study Musical Theater within New York City. Bell left the school in 2001, and began playing Becky, a character from Tom Sawyer. In 2001, Bell was the first to make her credit debut playing the character of Becky Pootie Tang. But the film cut her character from the film, and she only appears as a credit. Bell made an appearance alongside Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
